Who we are? A group photo of diverse snowboarders and skiers. How we started? Chatter started 3 summers ago when a group of friends wanted more queer friends on the mountain. Best way to do that? Free gear and cheap tickets!

How do we do it? Photo of donated items. Through community, allies, gear donations,, an on snow mentors. Chatter is more than just getting started on the snow. Our meetups make time for new and experienced riders + skiers to swap gear and become friends BEFORE they get on hill. Chatter aims to create a network of care and friendship.

Poppa J (he/they) Snowboarding has the ability to give my inner child a space to explore learn be supported and loved on; it's one of the avenues that allow me to feel completely present and living in the moment an d I love it. I love the freedom the softness that snowboarding allows for. Chatter has been the light at the end of the tunnel. I've been dreaming of snowboarding since I was a kid and it was never something I thought I could access. I was literally about to give up trying to get gear or even ride when I found that Chatter had the ability to get me everything I needed and connected me those who fully go me kitted out. Chatter has helped a native be able to have urban rides in parks that I used to play in as a child it's kind of amazing.

This season. I am excited about going on more rides with more of our community. I'm excited to actually be able to go up to a mountain with all my own gear and have the confidence to ride down with the squad but also by myself. I am looking forward to being emerged in the Chatter Snow riding community. It's an amazing group of people who are extremely talented an care for those who want to get into a true art form.

Art from the Chatter Community. Nikki Conero (acrylic on cavas) About the art: This piece represents the feeling asleep and waking up to a bluebird pow day. Of a looming storm, wasting away the night and blanketing the world around. The barren ground, once dark and sullen, becoming bright and reflective with a fresh layer of snow. Cristina Cruz (photography) About the art: Small gems that show the beauty of the world.
